The monthly balance in the portal cannot be saved for tax-related reasons. If you do not use your balance or only use it partially, it expires, and you cannot carry it over to the next month.
However, this does not apply to received vouchers. You can collect these indefinitely (but be mindful of the expiration date specified by the respective voucher provider).
